Studio Policy
Class placementStudents are placed in classes according to their advancement level. Students progress at different rates. Thus, class changes are made during the year as needed. I cannot place a student in her desired class when it is not in the best interest of the student or the class, or no space is available.
Tuition
$50.00 per month for most all classes. The exceptions are:
- Prep class - $25.00
- Class “A” – $60.00
- Class “A-2” $55.00
- Intermediate and Elite classes - $30.00
Payment is due the 1st of the month with a $5.00 late fee after the 10th. Makes checks payable to Deanna Jolley or Jolley’s Gymnastic Tumbling. Put your child’s name and class on the bottom of the check. Put cash in an envelope labeled with your child’s Name and class.
Make-up lessons
One per month allowed, only to be used for sickness or family vacations. Do not call me to schedule. You must sign up in the studio on the calendar. Sign up for your child to come to a class close to her level. You may not sign up for a class where someone else has already signed up. We don’t want to over tax the classes.
Dress
Leotard or short unitard (Preferred by students). No shorts or two piece outfits allowed. No leotards with skirts attached. No backless or halter outfits allowed. Hair must be pulled back. Avoid clips and bobby pins. They always fly out and get lost in the carpet. No Hair bands. Avoid ribbins and bows. They are impractical and are always falling out.
Performances
We will perform in December and May (Excepting Prep Class). Custom made costumes will be measured for and ordered in October. The same costume will be used for both performances, and for group pictures in February. Approximate cost plus performance fee - $55.00
Common Area
Don’t allow children to run around, play on the stairs, or ride the elevator. There are many health care facilities located in the building. We don’t want to cause problems with the patients as they come to and from their appointments. Management requests that you please don’t sit in window sills. Don’t use the common area as an observation area. It is distracting to the students, even if you are not in the room.
Other Items
No food, drink, or gum allowed in class. Student must eat all snacks before entering the studio.
Observation day is the first lesson of each month. The students do much better without a room full of observers, and it is a lot less stressful on the teacher. Please try to leave young children at home on observation day. Noise is very distracting, and the studio is not suited for a large audience.
Your child’s safety will always be a priority in the studio, but as in any sport there is the possibility of injury. To have your child participate, you must fill out and sign a waiver agreeing not to hold me responsible in the event of an accident.
Your child’s progress is determined greatly by regular class attendance, and regular practice at home. Your child can only do a trick that she is strong enough to do. I recommend 30 minutes practice per day. More time is even better. Home Practice charts are available in the studio. When charts are filled, sign them and send them back to be redeemed for a treat and another chart. Awards are given at The May performance for the most returned charts during the year.
